For seamless connectivity to the public, the proposed metro stations have to be integrated with the various transit modes viz MTC, Sub-urban; MRTS stations in the vicinity of the metro stations.
The Chennai Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority (CUMTA), have examined the proposed CMRL Phase-2 (Corridor – 3, Corridor – 4 and Corridor – 5) stations and the other transport modes (Bus, sub-urban rail system) in the vicinity of the proposed CMRL stations.
The list of metro stations identified for Multi- modal Integration (MMI), with the other modes of transport viz., MTC, Sub-urban, Railways are mapped.
Post the finalization of MMI plans in discussion with CMRL and other relevant agencies/departments, the same will be taken up for discussion in MMI sub-committee meetings for further action.
General public, CMRL, MTC, SETC, Southern Railways, GCC, CMDA,state Highways department, Traffic Police, TNIDBand other relevant stakeholders.
CUMTA to review the MMI plans prepared by CMRL and provide suggestions for improvement measures, if any.
